The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for individuals and businesses to file their income tax filings until October 31.
During his first press conference in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar, the newly appointed Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, delivered the news.
During the press conference, he disclosed that the tax collection agency had collected Rs685 billion in tax returns in September.
In addition, it was discovered that the FBR collected Rs1,609 billion during the first quarter (July to September) of the fiscal year 2022-23, which was in excess of the goal.
Until now, Rs84 billion had been issued in refunds. The decision was made in consideration of the needs of the business sector. The finance minister revealed the pricing of petroleum products for the next two weeks during the news conference.
