Lahore: Friends of Economic and Business Reforms (FEBR) president Kashif Anwar has urged the Punjab government has sought the Punjab government attention and assistence towards resolving of under impediments in the way of smooth flow of business activities, allowing the fragile of economy of the province to grow.
In a letter written to the Chief Secretary Punjab the FEBR president said that
it is the aim of present government to provide maximum facilitation to the businesses and remove all hurdles. Referring to the Chief Secretary’ s recent visit to Lahore Chamber of Commerce LCCI he said that issues have already been brought to his notice for his consideration however the business community resolution of the issues is still awaited by the business community.
Pointing out various bottleneck, Anwar stated that five to six years old audits of business concerns related to Social Security, EOAB, Labor and other institutions concerned with workers are frequently opened by these departments unnecessarily and need restrictions on audits beyond two years.
Anwar added that Labor, Social Security and other related courts without serving notices to the owners of business concerns in wake of less payment and other matters issue their arrest warrants and appoint bailiffs for their arrest.
He said that initiation court proceedings without physical service of notices and their receipt by business concerns as evidence and proof before issuing further actions.
Three to four years old marriage grants of workers’ children which were submitted manually are still pending. It is requested to kindly expedite the process to clear grants of poor workers, he explained, adding that many workers due to illiteracy and ignorance do not submit their children marriage grant applications within stipulated time period mentioned in law.
In order to help the poor workers, it is submitted to kindly also accept their applications after the lapse of time mentioned in law after allowing condonation, Anwar reiterated.
He hoped that the actions taken by the chief secretary office will play a positive role in enhancing friendly business culture in Punjab.
