Islamabad, 24th April: The federal government decides to extend lockdown for another 15 days.
According to Baaghi TV, in view of the coronavirus cases surging in the country, the federal government has decided to extend the lockdown for another 15 days. Provincial governments will decide according to the situation.
This important decision was taken at a meeting of the National Coordination Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting reviewed the coronavirus situation. The four Chief Ministers attended the meeting through video link. The participants were briefed on the statistics of the National Command and Control Center.

It may be recalled that in the last meeting of the National Coordinating Committee, the lockdown was extended till April 28. Giving a media briefing after the National Coordinating Committee meeting, the Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar, head of the National Command and Control Center, said that it is decided to maintain the current lockdown status until the 9th of May.
Asad Umar said that the provinces also gave their suggestions at the meeting. We are expanding the capacity of corona testing across the country to reach as many people as possible. He said that Ramadan is the most important month for every Muslim, during Sahar and Iftar there will be no load shedding.
Punjab Government has extended the lockdown further for 15 days, restricting the social gatherings during Ramadan. Only the milk and yogurt shops are allowed to open. CM Punjab, Usman Buzdar has ordered to shut down all the Aftaar gatherings during Ramadan in order to control the spread of the virus. Currently, there are 4,851 coronavirus patients in the Punjab Province.
