ISLAMABAD 24 February, 2021: Federal Minister for Counter Narcotics Ijaz Ahmad Shah participated in the anti-drug walk from D-Chowk to Parliament House. DG ANF Major General Arif Malik was also present on the occasion.

Talking to media during the anti-drug walk, Federal Minister Ejaz Shah said that anti-drug is a problem of the entire nation and we have to think about it together. He said that this walk would create awareness that drugs are a dangerous thing. Ejaz Ahmad Shah, Federal Minister for Counter Narcotics, said that every man has to rise up against the scourge of drugs. He said that the drug epidemic is spreading in the country and drug addiction is a huge problem. This is a curse that can destroy future generations.

He said that the purpose of this march is to spread awareness against drugs. Federal Minister Ijaz said that the drug epidemic is spreading rapidly in schools and universities and it is our duty to save our young generation from this scourge.

The purpose of this walk was to make people realize that drug addiction endangers human life and in order to get rid of it, we must all refuse drugs together. Participants held banners denying drugs “- love life -“

The Ministry of Counter Narcotics and the ANF are working to eradicate drugs under a three-tier policy, which includes reducing demand, reducing / eliminating supply, and working on counter-narcotics through global cooperation.

The walk was attended by Federal Minister for Counter Narcotics Ejaz Ahmad Shah, Major General Arif as well as officials from the Ministry of Counter Narcotics and ANF. Other participants in the walk included the general public, students of various schools, colleges and universities, Pakistan Boys. Representatives of Scouts, Gazelle Guides, Civil Society, UNODC and NGOs were present.

The walk started at D-Chowk and ended at Parliament House. Anti-drug pamphlets were distributed among the participants.
