The Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted operations and arrested 16 accused of gangs who became representatives of the SBP and looted millions of rupees from innocent citizens.
Additional Director Cyber Crime Sindh Faizullah Korejo and other officers gave details regarding the accused and also inspected the exported goods.
He said that more than 5,000 mobile phone SIMs, BVS devices and modern devices have been recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. The network of the accused was spread all over Pakistan.
The arrested accused also used to make phone calls in the name of ‘Jeeto Pakistan’ and other schemes.
The accused sometimes hacked ATM cards through easy load and sometimes seized large sums of money.
The Additional Director of Cybercrime said that the FIA was considering involving the relevant officials of the mobile companies.
The arrested suspects include SBP agents, phone callers, mobile SIM card activators and thumbprint experts.
According to Faizullah Korejo, the FIA and intelligence agencies have also conducted operations in various cities and villages of Punjab.
The accused have been arrested from Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, Pindi Bhattian, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Khairpur Tamiwali, Bahawalpur, Vehari and Multan, said the FIA officials.
