Islamabad: According to Baaghi TV reports, ANF personnel Naik Akbar was martyred by the firing of the accused. ANF and police personnel were called in on the spot. A heavy contingent of police reached the spot and launched a search operation in the area near the spot.
According to police, the armed suspects opened fire and fled the scene. IG Islamabad took notice of the incident and demanded a report. Police have started searching for the suspects.
Also on August 5, a man who opened fire in the open in the red zone of Islamabad was caught by the guards and handed over to the police.
According to police sources, the accused opened fire in the air in front of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) building in the red zone on Shahra-e-Dastur and fired nine rounds.
Gates of several important buildings were closed after the firing in the red zone. According to police, the accused who fired in the air was caught by the guards stationed at government buildings and handed over to the police.
Weapons have been recovered from the detainee and are being further investigated.
