First US airstrike after Taliban control in Nangarhar
The United States (U.S.) allegedly carried out a drone strike against ISIS fighters in the Afghan province of Nangarhar. The commander of the US Central Command, Bill Urban, has claimed that the planner of ISIS Khurasan has been targeted and killed. However, no civilians were killed.
United States President Joe Biden has blamed the ISIS-K for the blasts at Kabul airport and ordered attacks against ISIS leadership. Prior to the attack, the U.S. administration has warned its citizens to evacuate the limitations of the Kabul airport.
President Biden has reportedly earned the national security team against fears of another attack, which led to the U.S. initiating an attack against ISIS.
In a briefing to the U.S. president, US commanders made it clear that they had effective resources for attacks against ISIS in Afghanistan. The White House had warned that the next few days would be the most dangerous in Afghanistan.
Moreover, after the bombings at Kabul International Airport yesterday, U.S. President Joe Biden had said that Kabul would not forget the perpetrators of the bombings, the perpetrators would not be released, they would be pursued and targeted.
According to reports of the U.S. media, 170 people, including 13 U.S. personnel, were killed and more than 200 were injured in the Kabul airport attack.
