Flood Victims protest after Pervaiz Elahi’s visit

A case has been registered against the protesting flood victims of Ahmadani and Taunsa Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan district after the visit of Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

When Pervaiz Elahi visited the area, the flood victims of the area tried to meet with the provincial chief to put their grievances and problems before him. However, the local administration did not allow the devastated flood victims to meet the chief minister.

Only specific people were allowed to meet the chief minister, upon which the flood victims, enraged, made demonstrations and protests across Ahmadani.

After the return of the chief minister, flood victims had closed the Indus Highway from Ahmadani in protest, after which the administration swung into action and registered a case against the protesting flood victims as miscreants.

In the case lodged by the police, 28 flood victims have been named in the first information report (FIR) while 250 unidentified accused have been mentioned. The case has been registered under the provisions of interference and vandalism in the government.
