Foreign Office has categorically rejected the reports making rounds in media regarding PM Imran Khan’s appearance at Russia Economic moot and termed them as speculation.

According to reports of Baaghitv, Foreign Office spokesperson Muhammad Faisal has rejected the reports that PM Imran Khan will attend the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF)at Russia. He maintained Pakistan and Russia are in contact but nothing has been decided yet on this matter and all the news are mere speculation.

The EEF serves as a platform for discussion on important issues in the global economy, regional integration, and development of new industrial and technological sectors, as well as of the global challenges faced by Russia and other nations.

Prime Minister Imran Khan met Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit last month held in Uzbekistan and both the leaders held discussion on reviving bilateral relations and enhancing military cooperation. After their meeting, it was speculated Vladimir Putin had invited him at EEF to be held in the far eastern Russian city Vladivostok in September.
