FO rubbishes Indian defence minister’s baseless allegations
Aug.30, 2021: Pakistan’s FO on Sunday rejected allegations of terrorism leveled against Pakistan by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, calling them “completely baseless” and saying that India was targeting Pakistan through both ideological and political propaganda.
The FO says India uses terrorism as a tool of state policy, adding that in this year alone, India has been involved in terrorist attacks on Chinese and Pakistani workers in Dasu, and attacks in Johar Town, Lahore.
On Sunday, Singh said, “One of our neighboring countries has started resorting to proxy war and terrorism.”
The Pakistan FO absolutely denies the allegations. They said that Pakistan had shared with the international community irrefutable evidence of state sponsorship of Indian terrorism and sabotage against Pakistan. India uses terrorism as a tool of state policy.
The statement by the FO said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -Rashtriya Swayamsevak Singh (RSS) has a common anti-Muslim and anti-minority agenda, adding that they were working for both ideological reasons and political gain.
The FO added that false Indian propaganda campaigns targeted Pakistan. India’s so-called “surgical strikes” and misconceptions in Balakot in February 2019 were turned into nothing but lies and deception. The statement said that Pakistan had restored the strategic balance in the region by retaliating against India in an unholy and strong manner.
The FO statement also referred to the Indian defence minister’s remarks about the ceasefire in Kashmir region, saying that the February 2021 reaffirmation of the 2003 ceasefire understanding only demonstrated that Pakistan was a responsible state.
The statement by the FO read, “[Pakistan] wants to maintain peace in the region despite irresponsible Indian behavior. Despite our desire for peace, Pakistan will defend itself against any aggressive Indian plan.”
