Fog at Allama Iqbal International Airport, delay expected
National and international flights delayed due to fog.
According to Baaghi TV, fog has caused a delay in domestic and international flights at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Thirteen domestic and international flights have been delayed at Lahore Airport due to heavy fog, 12 flights to Lahore have been delayed and one has been canceled. Flights from Sharjah, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah, London and Toronto not allowed to land.
The flight from Abu Dhabi was diverted to Islamabad. According to the Meteorological Department, the visibility of the airport and its surroundings was reduced to 20 meters.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy fog is continuing in various cities of Punjab including Lahore and visibility was recorded up to 20 meters in Lahore due to heavy fog. Sight distance of 10 meters was recorded in Jhelum and 30 meters in Gujranwala, due to fog. Boundaries were recorded up to 50 meters in Jhang, Faisalabad and Joharabad. In Gujarat and Kasur, the line of sight was recorded up to 100 meters. Hafizabad recorded 200 meters, while Bahawalpur recorded 400 meters.
According to a spokesman for the motorway police, the motorway was closed to normal traffic due to heavy fog. However, Hazara Motorway E-35 will remain closed today at Pano Dheri Interchange near Locations 103 and 104 in connection with construction work on the road. Meanwhile, traffic from Islamabad to Mansehra will be closed for all types of traffic at 95 North Bairra / Mansehra and traffic from Mansehra to Thakot will also be completely closed.
Use front and rear fog lights when traveling on the motorway, according to a spokesman for the traffic police. Road users should avoid unnecessary travel, avoid speeding and keep proper distance from the next vehicle. Road users contact the Helpline 130 for information and assistance.
