Lahore, 5th February: Pakistani mountain climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his son Sajjid have speed up the mission to ascend the second highest mountain of the world, K2 without oxygen.

According to reports, Sadpara and his son have reached Hotel Nek and from there they can reach the top of the highest mountain in the world today at any time.

Sadpara shared an update on his Twitter account a few hours back and informed, “The team left for final summit attack at 12:00 am. It can take up to14 hours to reach the top. Please pray for the safety of the team and all the climbers. Management.”

Earlier, sources had informed that the climber hailing from Balgharia slipped and fell while returning to the Camp-3 along with other climbers. The search for a missing climber was underway.
However, as per the latest reports, the foreign mountaineer has been presumed killed in an avalanche as Pakistani and foreign climbers aim for the K2 summit today.
Sources say that the climber disappeared into an avalanche after the team’s rope broke when they were on their way back from Camp-3. More details of the accident are yet to come.
It was reported by Baaghi TV last month that a team of climbers including Muhammad Ali Sadpara, his son and a foreign climber were on a mission to ascend K2 without oxygen, but the expedition got postponed, earlier, due to bad winter.

It is important to mention here that a team of Pakistani and foreign climbers had begun their expedition to reach the second highest mountain of the world, K2, without oxygen to set a world record, days after the peak was scaled for the first time in winter by a Nepalese team.
