Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for Moscow on a two-day official visit

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for Moscow on a two-day official visit. The Foreign Minister will attend a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Moscow.

The Foreign Minister was invited by his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to visit Moscow and attend a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers. The Council of Foreign Ministers is the largest forum of the SCO after the Council of Heads of Government and the Council of Heads of State.

Important regional and global issues will be discussed at the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting. A joint joint declaration is also expected to be issued after the meeting. The Foreign Minister will hold meetings with the Foreign Ministers of various countries on the sidelines of the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Conference, during which important issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, will be discussed.

The Indian Foreign Minister will also be in Moscow to attend the meeting. The Pakistani and Indian ministers will sit at the same table, but no meeting is expected between the two other than a handshake.
