LAHORE, 8th August, 2020: Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar in Lahore.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar in Lahore and discussed issues of mutual interest, political situation and matters of South Punjab Secretariat. Provincial Minister Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik, Chief National Assembly MNA Amir Dogar, MNA Zain Qureshi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Punjab and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
During the course of the meeting, it was decided to take immediate administrative steps to make the South Punjab Secretariat fully functional.
The Chief Minister assured the Foreign Minister that secretaries of various departments would be posted in the South Punjab Secretariat soon while the secretaries of the departments would be fully empowered. Usman Buzdar said that South Punjab Secretariat would be given administrative and financial autonomy while matters related to Multan Division, Bahawalpur Division and Dera Ghazi Khan Division would be dealt with locally. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar gave in-principle approval for setting up of 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital in Multan. The hospital will be built on the site of the old grain market building.
In addition, issues related to WASA and sewerage in Multan will be resolved immediately.
Usman Buzdar said that establishment of South Punjab Secretariat is a big step of PTI government. With the establishment of South Punjab Secretariat, people do not have to come to Lahore for work. In the past, the people of South Punjab were entertained with hollow slogans. Usman Buzdar said that the former rulers used the funds taken in the name of development of South Punjab in their constituencies.
The people of South Punjab rejected those who cheated in the name of development in the general elections and the PTI got a great mandate in South Punjab. He said that he would keep the lodge of the mandate given by the people. On the occasion, the Foreign Minister said that the PTI government was fulfilling its promises made to the people of South Punjab. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the establishment of South Punjab Secretariat would bring relief to the local people. The problems of the people will be solved at the grassroots level and governance will be better.
Usman Buzdar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi strongly condemned the worst lockdown and oppression of Modi government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistani nation has condemned Indian atrocities at all levels on Kashmir Exploitation Day.
Usman Buzdar said that the entire nation celebrated Kashmir Exploitation Day in full force. A road in every division of Punjab, including Lahore, will be named after Srinagar. CM Buzdar said that he saluted the everlasting struggle of the people of Indian, illegally occupied, Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir is the lifeblood of Pakistan, and we cannot retreat an inch from the cause. On August 5, 2019, Modi violated the UN rules. Usman Buzdar said that India’s stubbornness and illegal action will continue to be exposed at every level. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir. Modi has heated up the market of barbarism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian government has made a new history of brutality by inflicting extreme cruelty on Kashmiris. He said that 22 crore Pakistanis stand with Kashmiris.
