Former Hockey player Naveed Alam passes away
Lahore, 13th July: Pakistan’s former hockey player Naveed Alam passed away at the age of 47. Hockey Olympian and member of the winning team of the 1994 World Cup, Naveed Aslam passed away on Tuesday. His daughter confirmed the news. She reported that he was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this month. Hockey legend and former captain Olympian passes away Naveed Alam was undergoing chemotherapy at Lahore’s Shaukat Khanum Hospital. Last night after this chemotherapy, his health deteriorated following which he was transferred to the intensive-care unit. Alam’s family revealed that earlier this month, the sportsman was not feeling well for the past many days. Therefore, he went to Shaukat Khanum Hospital for some tests where the doctors diagnosed his illness. According to details, Naveed Alam had appealed to the federal and provincial government to provide him necessary aid for his treatment, which was estimated to cost four million rupees.
