Former Test captain Javed Miandad visits Allama Iqbal’s tomb

LAHORE: Former national cricket team captain Javed Miandad visited the tomb of the great Poet-Philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal on Tuesday.
According to reports, former national cricket team captain and legendary batsman Javed Miandad visited Iqbal’s tomb and recited Fateha.
He visited the mausoleum of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who was undoubtedly one of the greatest poets, philosophers and seers of humanity of all times, which is located near the historic Badshahi Mosque in Lahore and offered Fateha. He also offered special prayers for the prosperity and development of the country and the nation.
On this occasion, the former captain said that Iqbal, through his poetry, breathed the spirit of freedom in the Muslims of Pakistan and dreamed of a separate homeland which was realized under the enthusiastic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The former captain further said that by following the poetry of Allama Iqbal, Pakistan could be put on the path of development.
