France launches first of Barracuda-class nuclear-powered attack submarine.

French President Emanuel Macron launched the first of Barracuda-class nuclear-powered attack submarine Suffren at the port city of Cherbourg in France on Friday.

According to reports of Baaghitv, France has launched a new submarine Barracuda-class nuclear powered attack submarine on Friday. It is the first of its class to be inducted in French Navy. The submarines will replace SSN Rubis submarines, which were employed in 1983. The submarine will have a surface displacement of about 4,100t. The maximum speed will be 25kt and the diving depth more than 350m.

This development has been seen with great strategic interest as tensions are boiling up between NATO allies and Russia and both are making advancement to counter other.
