India: A full emergency was declared at the Delhi airport for Air India’s Pune-Delhi flight as it landed with 180 people onboard and a cracked windshield.
The flight, which landed at 5:50 pm, had requested an emergency landing over the cracked windshield.
The pilot suspected a crack in the windshield of the aircraft on the co-pilot’s side and asked for a priority landing, sources in Air India said.
A minor crack was detected upon landing and it will be replaced, they added.
The outer layer of the windshield cracked due to a bird hit, sources in the DGCA said. The aircraft landed safely in Delhi and no emergency was declared by the crew, they added.
