Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former Federal Minister of Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain has said that there are 80% chances gas will not be available in the country next year.
Dr. Asim Hussain while speaking informally, on the occasion of his appearance in the accountability court said, energy is the biggest need of citizens and industry, but no work is being done to fulfill the need for energy.
Former Federal Minister said the country is going through a serious situation, if the price of energy increases by a few billion dollars, the situation will get worse.
According to the former petroleum minister, if strong measures are not implemented, the country may face serious economic challenges in the future.
The rise in global oil and gas prices, devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, and the country’s political and economic instability are pushing Pakistan toward energy insecurity, he added.
