German ambassador pays farewell visit to Ayaz Sadiq, COAS

ISLAMABAD: Former Speaker National Assembly and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met the outgoing German ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Bernhard Stephen Shalagic.

The two had a discussion on the mutual interest of both the countries. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Germany and Pakistan have friendly and cordial relations. He added that there are a lot of opportunities to enhance bilateral ties between the two states.

Mr. Ambassador had earlier paid a farewell visit to the chief of army staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The COAS thanked Mr. Bernhard Stephen Shalagic and appreciated his efforts in fostering strong ties between the two countries and to enhance the defense and economic ties between the two countries throughout his tenure.

The outgoing diplomat acknowledged the efforts put in by Pakistan for continuous peace and stability in the region and vowed to strengthen ties between the two countries whenever he got the opportunity to do so.

The German ambassador to Pakistan has completed his tenure and is now heading back to his native country.
