Fact Check: Did Zayn Malik Really Take Legal Action Against His Ex Girlfriend Gigi Hadid?

Gigi Hadid is being sued over a photo she posted of ex boyfriend Zayn Malik.

Most of the people on Social Media thinks that ex boyfriend of Gigi Hadid (Zayn Malik) has filed a lawsuit case against her. The reality is “New York based professional photographer Robert O’Neil has filed a lawsuit against the supermodel in the Southern District of New York, citing copyright infringement.” Her ex boyfriend Zayn Malik did not sue her at all.

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid had started dating in November 2015. Gigi and Zayn had many things together when they were love birds. The two of them reportedly started dating in November 2015, and ever since then it’s been a roller coaster of cute Instagram posts, sound bites and finally breakup rumors. US Weekly had been first to report the relationship between this Hollywood power couple back in 2015 when the star was allegedly engaged to British singer, Perrie Edwards. Some time later, paparazzi captured their photo in which they were holding hands. Zayn Malik initially denied about these rumours, “We are just friends” he stated. But then, Hadid makes an appearance in Zayn Malik’s “Pillowtalk” song video. After that they continue giving love quotes about each other. They spent time, vacation and dating together. Put pictures on Instagram stories with hashtag ‘Family’. Gigi and Zayn wear matching Spider-Man, inspired Halloween costumes.

Taking to Twitter in March 2018, Malik confirmed that the couple had parted ways stating, “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and i have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend.” Moreover, as reported by US Weekly, Zayn Malik reportedly wants to get back together with model ex girlfriend allegedly going as far as to buy an apartment in New York city to stay close to Hadid. However, he is reportedly seeking to sell the apartment as Hadid has recently been spotted with Tyler Cameron.

Sources have even claimed that Malik left the British-Irish band One Direction (1D) after he became “one half of a power couple” with Gigi Hadid and wanted to build a career of his own outside of his band. The band apart from Malik included: Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louie Tomlinson. The remaining members continued with the band releasing an album after Malik’s departure in 2015 but, have since been on hiatus.

Recently though, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have once again graced the headlines with news of legal action being taken against the american model for copyright infringement with regards to a picture of the couple. New York based professional photographer Robert O’Neil has filed a lawsuit against the supermodel in the Southern District of New York, citing copyright infringement. Photographer O’Neil is seeking to be awarded “damages of up to $150,000” for Gigi Hadid posting his photo of Zayn Malik. The documents claims that Hadid “infringed” O’Neil’s copyright by “reproducing and publicly displaying” the photo of Malik on her Instagram Story. “Gigi Hadid is not, and has never been, licensed or otherwise authorized to reproduce, publically display, distribute and/or use the Photograph,” the court documents state.

According to Baaghi TV’S sources, fact check is that Hadid has in fact not been sued by ex boyfriend Malik rather legal action has been taken by Photographer Robert O’Neil.
