Bahawalpur: A girl returning home from a wedding in the Punjab city of Bahalpur was gang-raped. According to local sources from Bahawalpur, 3 accused gang-raped a girl in Bahawalpur 7BC.
The victim was on her way home from the wedding ceremony.The three accused abducted the girl and gang-raped her. The victim said in a statement to the police that the accused had threatened to kill her if she told the police.
Police registered a case and started searching for the accused. The victim girl was shifted to the hospital for medical treatment. Police said that further progress will be made in the investigation after receiving the medical report.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, there was an incident of gang rape of a woman on Gujjarpura Motorway Link Road. The woman was traveling with her children. When the petrol ran out, the vehicle came to a stop. The woman was taken to a nearby bush and raped in front of the children. The accused had also looted one lakh cash and jewelery and fled.
Yesterday, a reward of Rs 25 lakh was announced for those who helped in the arrest of the accused. Police have arrested the father, brother and daughter of the accused.
