This hacking software had reportedly been used earlier this year in multiple U.S.-allied countries earlier this year.

Moreover, the investigation company has also revealed that a significant portion of the victims are high-profile government and military officials spread across on five continents and at least 20 countries and many of them are U.S. allies.

On the other hand, some victims are reported to have connections to the United States, Pakistan, India, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, but it is not confirm that the government officials were from those countries or elsewhere.

Reportedly, WhatsaApp also filed a lawsuit against Israeli hacking tool developer NSO Group alleges that NSO Group built and sold a hacking platform that exploited a flaw in WhatsApp-owned servers to help clients hack into the cellphones.
