The Government of Pakistan (GOP) has decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days from December 1, 2021.
According to the Finance Ministry, the price of petrol will remain at Rs 145.82 per liter while the price of diesel will remain at Rs 142.62 per liter.
The Finance Ministry said that the price of light diesel oil will remain at Rs 114.07 per liter and kerosene at Rs 116.53 per liter.
It is to be noted that oil prices plunged $10 a barrel on Friday, their largest one-day drop since April 2020, as a new variant of the coronavirus spooked investors and added to concerns that a supply surplus could swell in the first quarter.
Oil fell with global equities markets on fears the variant, could dampen economic growth and fuel demand.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the new variant, which it named Omicron, as “of concern,” according to the South African health minister.
