Lahore: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar inaugurated the newly constructed Maqbool Ahmad block in King Edward Medical University.

Governor Punjab also attended the Convocation of University of Punjab and Rehumatology International Conference 2022 under Sheikh Zaid Post Graduate Medical Institute.
According to the details, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Saturday inaugurated the Maqbool Ahmed Block donated by Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Maqbool Ahmed and Samina Ahmed at King Edward Medical University. Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Dr. Asad Aslam Khan and others were also present on this occasion . In his address, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that those who serve humanity are always remembered in history, adding that those have authority and position should serve the fellow beings. He said that the names of Dr. Maqbool and his wife who have worked to serve the humanity will live in history forever.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar also attended the convocation of Punjab University where Provincial Minister for Local Government, Mian Mahmood Rasheed, and Vice Chancellor Punjab University Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar were also present. He distributed medals among students and congratulated them on their success. Governor Punjab said that we are pursuing a policy of strengthening the universities of Punjab as well as purging them of political interference, adding that the work being done in Pakistan today to strengthen the institutions and supermacy of merit is unprecedented in the past. He said that the government is also committed to the betterment of health and education sectors.
Apart from Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health Dr Faisal Sultan also participated in the International Conference on Rheumatology 2022 under Sheikh Zayed Post Graduate Medical Institute. Governor Punjab said that he is pleased to be attend the International Conference on Rheumatology, adding that the present government is giving top priority to the provision of facilities in the field of health and the Insaf Health Card is a historic gift of this government to the poor people. He said that health is a fundamental and constitutional right of every Pakistani and the present government is utilizing all its resources for it.
Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that he hoped that other medical colleges and hospitals in Pakistan would follow the example of Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex and try to establish important departments like Rheumatology in their institutions to fill the shortage of doctors in this field. The Governor of Punjab also appreciated the services of Pakistani doctors and other medical personnel in the war against Coronavirus Pandemic.
