Governor Punjab meets Prime Minister at Governor House

Lahore: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar met with Prime Minister Imran Khan at Governor House. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar apprised the Premier about his meeting with the European delegates for the extension of the GSP status. Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the efforts of Governor Punjab in the extension of the GSP status. Matters such as politics, government affairs, universities’ reforms, Aab-e-Pak, and the issues of overseas Pakistanis came under discussion during the meeting.
According to the details, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar met the Prime Minister at Governor House on Tuesday. During the meeting, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan on reducing prices of petroleum, electricity and announcement of industrial package. He apprised the Prime Minister during the briefing that EU Special Representative on Human Rights has assured him of the support in the extension of the GSP status, adding that he has also been constantly in touch with the representatives of the European Union for the extension of the GSP status and other issues as well.
Governor Punjab told Prime Minister Imran Khan that we are working with the different universities of US and Uzbekistan to bring reforms and quality education in universities of Punjab. He said that the appointments are being made on the basis of merit in the universities. He said that more than 1500 projects of the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority will be completed this month, thus providing clean drinking water to 1.5 crore people through water filtration plants. While Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his satisfaction on the performance of Punjab Aab-e-Pak authority, he instructed to work upon more projects.
Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar told Prime Minister Imran Khan that he holds meetings with overseas Pakistanis to solve their problems every Friday for more than 3 hours at Governor House. The meetings are attended by the representatives of overseas Pakistanis and immediate measures are being taken for redressal of overseas Pakistanis problems.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it is the priority of the government to ensure the development and prosperity of the country and nation. We will provide more relief to the public in the coming days, adding that we are taking unprecedented measures for the welfare of the people. He said that the government is working to strengthen the institutions because their development will strengthen the country, he added.
