The Government of Pakistan has issued an order to all private hospitals and laboratories/collection centers asking them to abide by the COVID-19 RT-PCR fixed test prices.
A letter issued by the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) said that these institutions charge Rs 5,500 for tests done using Chinese kits and Rs 6,500 for Roche/Abbott kits.
The IHRA said it would visit these hospitals and institutions to see if the order was being followed.
Private hospitals, laboratories/collection centers found violating the terms and conditions will be punished according to the law, which can be de-registration under the IHRA Act 2018, sealing the building or fine and/or imprisonment, etc.
This order has been sent to all private hospitals, laboratories/collection centers.
