ISLAMABAD: After much hue and cry and secret talks, the detail of 26th constitutional amendment has come to public as reported by the Baaghi TV on Monday.

 

Sources said that alterations have been done in the original draft of the constitutional amendment on the basis of several demands put forward by Maulana Fazlur Rehman to come to a consensus. “After efforts of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the government side and JUI-F chief have agreed on minimum agenda over scores of points,” sources added.

 

“The amendments with regard to military court in Article 51 and 200 have been withdrawn on demand of the JUI-F head,” media sources reported. “Meanwhile, proposed clause with regard to increasing the judges age-limit to 68 years, has also been withdrawn”.

 

In a significant development, the government and JUI-F chief have reached to an agreement over establishment of the constitutional court,” sources reported. “A retired judge of the Supreme Court will chair the constitutional court”.

 

“First appointment of the head of the constitutional court will be made by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister,” sources added. “While, appointment of rest of the judges of the court will be made from the five high courts on the basis of eligibility criteria,” according to sources.
