Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has assured that the government would continue to provide all possible legal and diplomatic support in the matter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
He gave this assurance to Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, the sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who called on the Prime Minister in Islamabad on Friday.
The Prime Minister said the government is in no way negligent regarding the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
The government has been providing diplomatic and legal assistance in the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui on the directives of the Prime Minister.
Moreover, the Prime Minister had not only written a letter to then US President Joe Biden regarding this issue, but also constituted a committee headed by Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, to ensure further progress in the matter.
The committee will remain in contact with Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui and will work to provide the necessary support in this connection.
