Govt will not come in way of opposition’s agitation: Governor Punjab

Lahore: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government had neither created any hurdle in any march or protest of the ¹opposition in the past nor will do so in the future.
Before Peoples Party, Moulana Fazal ur Rehman had staged a long March, but the government is still intact. The visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Russia is of great importance for the economic development of the country. At this point, the world is bifurcating into two blocs, but we would not become a part of any bloc. The country’s interest is the priority of the government. Punjab Aab-e-Pak authority is completing 1500 projects. NGOs are also working with us on the clean drinking water project. 1.5 crore people will be provided with clean water.
He said this while addressing the media on the occasion of the inauguration of filtration plants and laying the foundation of welfare hospital on Monday in Jalalpur Bhutan and Lala Musa. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said during his speech that the government is utilizing all resources for the welfare of the masses, adding that the purpose of the Sehat Card and Ehsaas Programme is also to provide relief to the nation. He said that the government is working for equal development across Pakistan for the first time in the history of country. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we will continue to strive for the strengthening and prosperity of the country, he added.
Sarwar foundation is also providing clean drinking water to 2.5 million people through filtration plants, adding that the philanthropists should step forward to serve humanity because history remembers such people who work for humanity.
While replying to the questions of journalists Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that it is the democratic right of opposition to protest and stage a long march and they so stage a protest or long march whenever and wherever they want, adding that it is the clear policy of the government that no hindrance will be created in the peaceful protest. He said that the Allied parties have said repeatedly that they stand with the government. We have been given the mandate for 5 years by the public and the current government is taking measures to strengthen all departments and democracy.
While answering yet another question, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, said that the present government has always prioritized the interest of the country and nation and all the decisions have been taken by keeping national interest supreme. The visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Russia is important from every aspect. After this visit, both countries will take further steps for the promotion of trade. He said that even the international community is acknowledging the economic development of Pakistan, he added.
