It is to be noted that in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Imran Khan, PM Imran Khan had said that the economic team should put full details on this issue before the nation, the facts about the waiver of Rs 208 billion are being distorted.
It is important to state the facts regarding the Gas Infrastructure Development Surcharge. The responsibility of protecting the national treasury is self-imposed, no one will be rewarded.
Earlier, it was reported that the government had waived off Rs 300 billion due to a secret notification from Pak-Arab, Arif Habib, KESC, Arif Naqvi, Descon, Haroon and Engro. Well known anchor Rauf Klasra expressed these views in a private TV program.
Rauf Klasra has strongly criticized the government’s move, saying that the government gave a contract to Engro and gave them Rs 200 billion. Rauf Klasar said that Imran Khan has misappropriated the nation’s money by forgiving these few big investors. Imran Khan should have gone to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
