Vehicles are being called from nearby districts, Kasur, Sheikhupura and other cities to control the fire.
The shops in the plaza contained electronics including mobile phones and computers, which is causing the fire to intensify, while diesel drums on the roof of the plaza, which are used for generators, also caught fire.
Twelve rescue vehicles and two snorkels are battling the blaze, but hours later the blaze could not be contained and authorities called for more fire brigade vehicles.
