Case of abuse of power heard by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under the Cyber Crimes Act. According to reports, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the Attorney General for judicial assistance. Senior Advocate Hamid Khan, Abid Hassan Manto and Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council have been appointed Court assistants. According to reports, the court inquired whether Section 20 of the Cyber Crimes Act is in contradiction of Articles 14, 19 and 19A of the Constitution of Pakistan. Presenting the observation, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that FIA’s notices are the worst example of censorship. He added that if investigation is initiated concerning criticism, the issue will become more complex. CJ Minallah said, if the opposition leader says that Prime Minister Imran Khan has insulted, will the FIA take notice? The FIA representative responded that according to the law, we have a complaint from a Supreme Court judge.
