LAHORE: The second phase of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7 is set to start from today in Gaddafi stadium. Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans will compete against each other in the first match.

According to reports, the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans is set to start at 7:30 pm. Preparations for the second phase of matches in Lahore have been completed, with public enthusiasm on the rise. The security agencies are reportedly taking their positions, with rangers, police, and other law enforcement personnel on duty around the venue.

Multan Sultans captain, Mohammad Rizwan, said that he is proud of his players and every member of staff. We are happy to continue the team performance and will continue to play our own brand of cricket in Lahore, as well as in Karachi. We are enthusiastic about performing better in the second phase, he added. 

Wahab Riaz, captain of the Peshawar Zalmi, said that the team’s performance in the first phase was not up to expectations, but we are determined to play the best game in Lahore, in the presence of experienced and talented players. We will try to reach the playoff stage by collecting maximum achievements. Everyone knows that once Peshawar Zalmi reaches the playoffs, it is not easy to stop him, so we are hopeful for a great comeback in the event.

The first phase of the HBL PSL 7, which started on January 27 was completed on February 7 at the National Stadium in Karachi. During the fifteen matches played in total, all teams played five matches. The Multan Sultans led by Mohammad Rizwan proved victorious, winning all five matches. 

In addition, Islamabad United scored second with six points, Lahore Qalandars ranked third with six points. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi won 2 matches each, and scored the fourth and fifth points, respectively. Karachi Kings have not won a single match so far, and are in the last place.
