It’s been a few days since WWE icon Hulk Hogan breathed his last. Hogan wasn’t just a legend in the WWE Universe, who took the company and the sport to a new height, but also campaigned for the current United States President Donald Trump.

While Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to pay his tributes to Hogan when the news of the latter’s death first broke, there seems to be more connecting the two than just politics. The US president paid fresh tribute to the WWE Hall-of-Famer, recalling how Hogan told him he wished to have ‘come out stronger’ in his support.

“He made the best speech at the [Republican National] convention, and he was very proud,” Trump recalled while speaking to Going Ringside.

“You know, he told me, ‘I wish I came out stronger, but I didn’t want to be criticized.’ And he felt so badly about it, and he really overdid it-almost, if you can overdo such a thing.”
