Heat wave expected in Karachi: MET Office

May 17, 2021 BaaghiTV: Director Meteorological Department Sardar Sarfraz said that there is no threat to our coastal strips from cyclone Tauktae, the direction of the storm is towards Indian Gujarat and it is 800 km away from Karachi.

However, he did say that due to the effects of the storm in Karachi, the weather has been hot yesterday and the weather in the city is likely to remain extremely hot even today due to which the temperature is expected to remain between 44 and 45 degrees.

Sardar Sarfraz also said that the typhoon is moving away from Karachi so there is no possibility of rain in the city. However, thundershowers are expected in Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Thatta and Umerkot where heavy rains are expected in Tharparkar while winds of 40 to 60 kmph are expected during this period.
