Hijab Row: Uttar Pradesh also expels students from class

New Delhi: Under the banner of the Narendra Modi government, Hindu extremism is on the rise across India, as hijabi female students are expelled from class in Uttar Pradesh. According to Indian media reports, in a college in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim student was expelled from class for wearing a hijab. The principal and teachers also asked the students to abide by the rules of uniform, instead of helping the student. The college principal said that in order for everyone to look the same, the rules must be followed and uniformity must be observed.  Earlier, Hindu extremists had hinted at prohibiting female students from wearing hijab in schools in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Madhya Pradesh education minister, Inder Singh Parmar, had said that the state would soon ban the wearing of hijab as it was not part of the uniform.
