Lahore, 13th June: Canada paid homage to four members of a martyred Canadian-Pakistani family who were laid to rest in Ontario on Saturday.

Baaghi TV: Apart from Canadian officials, people of different colors, races and religions were also present on the occasion.

According to reports, the Pakistani martyrs died in a tragic accident last Sunday in London, Ontario, Canada.

The funeral prayers of the martyrs were offered at 2 pm local time and 11 pm Pakistan time.

According to Baaghi TV, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Canada Raza Bashir Tarar and Consul General Toronto Abdul Hameed had also reached the funeral to attend the funeral prayers.

Before the funeral, Pakistan’s Ambassador Raza Bashir Tarar met the family members of the martyrs and conveyed condolences from the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned the families of the victims in Canada to assure his full support and help.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the Canadian Foreign Minister had assured action against those responsible. He has hinted at raising a voice globally against Islamophobia.

It is pertinent to mention here that four members of the Afzaal family, a man and his wife, their teenage daughter and his mother, went out for a walk in their London neighborhood last Sunday when a 20-year-old man in a black truck drove into them on purpose.

A fifth member of the family, a nine-year-old boy, was seriously injured and underwent two surgeries for his broken leg.
