Lahore, 30th March: After the number of coronavirus cases reached an alarming ratio, the Punjab government strictly asked the citizens to wear face masks when in public.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, police in the provincial capital have booked as many as 188 people for violating the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by government to curb the spread of the pandemic.
In their aim to ensure that the citizens adhere to the rule of wearing face masks, the police have become active and is now charging fines for not following the SOPs.
According to reports, 43 cases have been registered against the people for not wearing masks at public places in Lahore.
According to the report from sources, a case against 39 people was filed in the Cantt division, 59 people were booked in Model Town and 22 were found violating the SOPs in Iqbal Town, Lahore.
Police booked 19 residents in the Civil Lines areas, while 6 cases have been registered in Saddar Division against people who were not wearing face masks.
Cases were filed against the citizens under Punjab Pandemic Control Ordinance 2020.
Lahore CCPO has strictly ordered to the public to wear masks and follow all SOPs and said that those who fail to comply will be fined and detained for 6 months.
