I have tested positive for COVID-19: Spanish FM Albares

MADRID (3rd Dec 2022): Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 after he took part in a NATO meeting in Romania. 

On Thursday, FM Albares confirmed that he had tested positive for Coronavirus. The FM had participated in a meeting of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) in Romania, earlier this week.

Taking to the social networking website, Twitter, the FM wrote, “I have tested positive for COVID-19. I feel fine, with mild symptoms. I continue to work, taking precautions”. 

The Spanish FM was in Bucharest on Tuesday and Wednesday for a gathering of NATO foreign ministers, claimed Al Arabiya news.

FM Albares arrived back in Spain on Thursday, as confirmed by the Spanish Foreign Office, after stopping in Poland for a dinner with officials and members of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe).
