ICC to discuss T20 World Cup’s future tomorrow

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will discuss the future of the upcoming T20 World Cup in the Chief Executive Committee’s meeting tomorrow. Representatives from all cricket boards will join the teleconference and discuss alternative ways to resume cricket activities. The meeting will be headed by the CEO of ICC, Manu Sawhney. The ICC has planned on considering an option to conduct the mega event behind closed doors. The decision will be taken following the increasing rate of coronavirus across the world. The meeting, to be held via conference call, will also look into the Future Tours Programme (FTP) until 2023, that has been hit because of the global coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, the meeting will bring together the CEOs of the 12 Full Members and the three Associate Representatives and discuss the possibility of resumption of international cricket. “The purpose of the meeting is to gain a full understanding of Member priorities during this time and to discuss and share the key mitigation factors required to resume international cricket based on government advice in each territory,” the ICC statement said.
