ICC World Cup 2019: Sri Lanka thrashed West Indies by 23 runs.

In the 39th ODI of ICC World Cup 2019, Sri Lanka defeat West Indies by 23 runs at Riverside Ground.

According to reports of Baaghitv, West Indies won the toss and asked Sr Lanka to bat first. Sri Lanka scored 338 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Avishka Fernando top scored for Sri Lanka. He scored maiden International century and also scored his first century of this World Cup. He played brilliant innings of 104 runs. Kusal Perera scored 64 runs. Jason Holder picked up 2 wickets for West Indies.

Chasing a target of 339, West Indies scored 315 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Nicholas Pooran top scored for West Indies. He played exquisite innings of 118 runs and gave his team a chance of winning the match. Fabian Allen played fighting innings; he scored 51 runs of 32 balls. Laisth Malinga picked up 3 wickets while Angelo Mathews, Kasun Rajitha picked up 1 wicket each.

Avishka Fernando was awarded man-of-the match award.
