IFALPA offers assistance in fake license scandal

President of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA), Captain Jack Netskar, has written a letter to the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to the details, president IFALPA showed concerns regarding the statements make by Aviation Minister, Ghulam Sarwar, declaring that many Pakistani commercial pilots carry ‘fake’ licenses.

“It is very clear to all independent observers that there are problems within the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and perhaps the wider aviation community within Pakistan which the Minister of Aviation seems quick to highlight,” said the letter.

Captain Jack Netskar requested PM Khan to look into the matter immediately as it is a matter of grave concern. Moreover, Captain Netskar offered help and assistance to Pakistan in both the ongoing accident investigation of PK-8303 as well as with any task force that is created to deal with the licensing scandal.

IFALPA president also offered to provide their expertise to find the truth, enhance aviation safety and restore confidence in the Pakistani aviation system. IFALPA is a global representative body of more than 140,000 professional pilots in nearly 100 countries around the world.

It is to be noted that while addressing the National Assembly, Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan disclosed that a large number of commercial pilots possessed ‘fake’ licences.

Suspicious license has become a big problem not only for PIA but for all airlines as it is becoming a cause of degradation of the country. The government needs to take strict action against all pilots who have been flying commercial jets without a licence.
