IHC bars ECP from holding by-election on Mianwali seat, reserves verdict on IK’s appeal against disqualification
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday reserved the judgement on the appeal against Imran Khan’s disqualification in the Toshakhana reference.
The IHC has prevented the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from conducting bye-election on the seat of Imran Khan from Mianwali.
Pertinent to note that Imran Khan was de-seated by the ECP from Mianwali seat.
Barrister Ali Zafar, representing Imran Khan, prayed the court to to suspend the decision of Imran Khan’s disqualification.
Justice Aamer Farooq replied that IHC would not suspend the verdict of the ECP and the court only barred ECP from holding bye-election.
The court sought reply from the election commission on Nov 10.
