IHC Dismisses Bail Application in Forgery with Courts Case
Islamabad, August 17, (Online Int’l): The Islamabad High Court’s Chief Justice Ather Minallah rejected the Bail Plea of the accused involved in the case for seeking relief from different courts through forgery.
The accused was arrested after his bail application was rejected by the Islamabad High Court. During the hearing, the chief justice IHC said that the accused had committed contempt of court, forgery and other offences. The accused, without mentioning the rejection of bail from Islamabad, sought protective bail from Peshawar and Sindh High Court. Expressing displeasure over the accused, the court said that the accused lied with the court.
Attempts were made to degrade the country’s judicial system. Has the petitioner no trust on the courts, that he resorted to various courts. The petitioner misled the courts for seeking bail.
“We have trust on this court. We should be given a last chance”, the petitioner’s lawyer said.
On this the Chief Justice asked the counsel for the petitioner why the court should grant bail to the petitioner? Why did he not approach the concerned court following rejection of his plea? He had no trust on this court; therefore he resorted to Peshawar and Sindh High Court.
The court dismissed the bail application of the accused and the accused was taken into Police Custody outside the court.
