IHC rejects PTI plea to immediate halt bye-polls on 9 seats

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday rejected
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf PTI’s plea to immediately suspend the bye-election schedule of nine constituencies issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).


IHC adjourned the hearing on August 16th.

IHC Justice Amir Farooq issues notices to all parties for the next hearing.

ECP said bye-elections on 9 general seats of the National Assembly will be held on September 25.

In a notification, ECP said that nomination papers can be submitted from August 10 to August 13 while nomination papers will be scrutinized on August 17.

Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule of bye-elections on the seats vacated by the resigned members of PTI.
