IHC rules on Cynthia Ritchie’s appeal
Islamabad, 22nd June: Islamabad High Court (IHC) rules on the American blogger Cynthia D Ritchie’s appeal against registration of a case.
Baaghi TV: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a petition filed by the FIA seeking a stay of proceedings against Cynthia Ritchie.
Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Manullah has ruled in favor of Cynthia D Richie on her application.
The verdict was reserved after the hearing in the court this morning which was pronounced by the court. Ritchie’s lawyer Imran Feroze Malik appeared in court along with Cynthia Ritchie.
Cynthia’s allegations against Rehman Malik trashed
Cynthia’s advocate Imran Feroze told the court that we are not objecting to the inquiry, only to the registration of the case, there are some other aspects of this decision.
Chief Justice Athar Manallah said that how are you affected by this decision? This is not a direct case order, the FIA has been ordered to investigate first.
It may be recalled that on June 15, a local court in Islamabad had directed the FIA to file a case against Cynthia D Richie, an American woman who allegedly leveled allegations against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, which Cynthia had challenged in the Islamabad High Court.
