IHC satisfied with Imran’s apology; dismisses contempt charges in lady judge case

The Islamabad High Court ( IHC) Monday dismissed the contempt proceedings against former premier Imran Khan in threats to female judge last month during a F9 Park public rally in Islamabad.

A five-judge bench headed by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case.

PTI supremo appeared before the court in person

The IHC CJ said, “It is your personal decision as to visit the judge in person. If you have realised [your] mistake and ready to apologise for it…that is enough.”n

Pertinent to note that Imran Khan in his affidavit submitted to the court on Saturday, the PTI chief has eschewed to extend unconditional apology.

In last hearing, the IHC declared Imran’s statement regarding his apology satisfying.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah had said that the court would record the PTI chief’s statement and told him to submit an affidavit.
