An Islamabad High Court Thursday  suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant of Fawad Chaudhry in the contempt of Election Commission of Pakistan case.

An Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri issued a three-page written order and suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant on the assurance of Fawad Chaudhry.

The court directed Fawad to appear before the Election Commission and submit a certified copy of the proceedings of the ECP.

The court in its judgment said that the petitioner’s counsel stated that the bailable warrant was not complied with and now the court issued a notice to the Election Commission for July 26 and sought its response.

It should be noted that the Election Commission had issued a non-bailable warrant to Fawad Chaudhry for non-appearance, which was challenged by Fawad Chaudhry in the court.
