Islamabad September 21 (Online Int’l): Illegal allotment of a residence to Ministry of Housing and Works’ Parliamentary Secretary Tashfeen Safdar in the Minister Colony has been alleged, credible sources said on Monday. The houses in the Minister Colony are usually allotted to ministers, ministers for state, NA Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman. The sources said that the house was allotted to the Parliamentary Secretary on the recommendation of a minister.

Despite the Senate Standing Committee on House and Works having directed the concerned authority to get the house vacated by the Secretary, it has not been vacated till now.  Despite the Senate body directions in March this year,  Federal Minister for Housing and Works Tariq Bashir Cheema has not been  able to get the Secretary to vacate the house.

The illegal practice of the Parliamentary Secretary was exposed to the public a few days back when pictures of the wedding ceremony of her husband’s niece surfaced on social media. The wedding ceremony was held in the Ministers Colony. Various ministers, including Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar attended the ceremony.

The Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works took notice of the illegal allotment of the residence to the Parliamentary Secretary in March this year but the lady secretary instead of vacating the residence put the Senate committee in a puzzle.
